DEVELOPING YOURSELF FOR SUCCESS

Self-development refers to all and any input that improves you in all spheres and dimensions. Anytime we consciously make an effort to improve ourselves, we are participating in self-development. Every form of success can only be attained through enormous investment in preparation and development because purpose without preparation and development will meet with outright failure; in fact, the frustration of many is that they are not adequately developed for the success they envisage or crave for. Developing is equipping yourself for the task ahead and self-development makes you a magnet that attracts all you need to accomplish a set goal. Self-development turns men from smaller vessels to larger vessels – the more a man develops himself, the larger of a container he becomes and the larger his capacity to receive spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Scripture: “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.” (Isaiah 54:2-3 – NIV)

Christ, our pattern man was diligent and requires diligence from us as well. Diligence requires self-development for in this our capacity to receive and impact grows. Unfortunately, many of us do not take the necessary steps to improve on ourselves due to laziness or contentment with mediocrity or we develop only in one aspect and ignore the others. If we self-develop ourselves only spiritually, then we will only be effective spiritually and be infective and unsuccessful in other areas of life. We must therefore seek to enhance ourselves in every sphere that pertains to accomplishing our God given purpose on earth.

Assignments:

* We need to daily reflect on where we are and where God wants us to be. Doing this often will help us strive to attain the heights He wants us to reach.

* We must learn to be resilient and persistent and set daily goals in enlarging our capacity to receive from Him.

Bible reading: 2nd Kings 4:1 – 7.

Prophetic declaration: Father in the name of Jesus, thank You for this month of enlargement without limits and Your prophetic agenda for the year which we know You will make good. I decree and declare that the purpose of God for me will be actualised and accomplished as I am transformed daily. I decree that I enter into the realm of kingdom success and that I am a rare gem in my generation for I was made for such a time as this. I declare that I and my household will get to the top and nothing can by any means stop us and that I and my household are a candle lighted on a candle stick that gives light to all that they might see, Amen!

Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus, may I never be content to live in mediocrity, Amen!
